Italian Renaissance Chests in the Czech Collections

This work deals with the subject of Italian renaissance chests (cassone) in Czech collections, mapping the fund of cassones in the Czech Republic and its critical evaluation. The most important collections of the Moravian Gallery in Brno, North Bohemian Museum in Liberec, Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the National Museum in Prague, the National Gallery in Prague and Silesian Museum in Opava were selectively processed for this research. The attention is also paid to decorative techniques, materials, design, typology and construction solutions used in the cassone- making process. The issues of differences in the production of cassones among various Italian regions are also outlined. This work also contains a concept of an Italian-renaissance chests catalogue in the Czech collections.

The aim of this bachelor work is evaluation of the Italian Renaissance ceramics with motifs of ancient mythology in the context of Czech collections. Work closer related literature in the Czech and foreign art history. The main attention will be focused on the analysis and interpretation of individual exhibits both formal and iconographic page. In connection with the selected collection items will also be reminded of the main production centers of the Italian Renaissance ceramics. Finally, the work will evaluate iconographic themes and their typological comparison with similar parts in foreign collections. Marine in the oeuvre of Jan van Goyen and his contemporaries in the context of Czech collections

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the selected works of the Dutch marine of the 17th century from the Czech collections, especially from the National Gallery Prague and the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The main emphasis will be focused on the selected works by one of the leading Dutch landscape painters Jan van Goyen and to his contemporaries as well. This thesis deals with Dutch marine in the context of Czech collecting and subsequently in Czech galleries. The art theme of the marine will be presented in the background of the cultural-historical context of the Golden Age of Dutch painting when the development of Dutch marine of the 17th century was conditioned by successful seafaring, which was one of the main pillars of the Dutch economy. Dutch marine will be discussed in the context of the Dutch landscape painting of the 17th century. The method of formal and iconographic analysis will be applied to the selected works. Certain paintings will be further interpreted through the socio-cultural context of the time when the works were created. This bachelor thesis works mainly with Czech collections. The purpose of this work is to reflect the Dutch marine of the 17th century in the context of the Czech collections.

Female Nudes in Paintings Dutch Renaissance Masters. Interpretations of Works of Art from Czech Collections. Abstract The bachelor thesis focused on a few selected works by Dutch Renaissance masters. The bachelor thesis is based on women nudes. To be more precise it stands on portrayal of woman nude in the art works of Dutch Renaissance painters. The nudes were divided into three different thematic groups. First group is focused on paintings with the sacral theme (Madonna and child, Susannah and the Elders, The death of Mary Magdalena). Second group brings out paintings with the profane theme (Half- length Figure of a Woman Naked to the Waist). The last group concentrates paintings of Ancient Rome (The Suicide of Sophonisba, The Suicide of Lucretia). The art works, that were chosen to be scrutinize, can be found in the czech collections of art. Each and every painting was characterized in detail using the iconography analysis, set in the period and compared to other art works that relate to them and are placed in worldwide galleries. This thesis aim is to accurate the significance of women nudes in the art works of the Dutch Renaissance masters.
